Services offered to middle school students

Motivating a middle schooler to learn to be more successful, motivated and engaged in school is AccessLearning’s main aim in creating multi-sensory remediation and strategies-based circular support for 11-14 year olds and are also aided by use of:

Services offered to high school students

Fostering the love of learning in adolescents requires an in-depth understanding of the unique issues influencing adolescent learners who need to develop skills through multi-sensory curricular support. AccessLearning’s students become motivated, confident and successful in their studies and we achieve this through fostering student focused solutions through:

  • Creating customized one-to-one and/or small group coaching in strategies-based curricular support from ages 14-19.
  • Teaching revision and test-taking strategies for external exam programmes including, IGCSE, A-Levels, IB, EB and AP.
  • Providing support in completion of large independent projects such as the IB Internal Assessments and Extended Essay that students may have difficulty managing alone.
  • Developing skills for time management, organization skills and overcoming procrastination.
  • Coaching in managing school and/or test anxiety and stress management.
  • Providing case management and academic support for students who may need short-term or long-term home schooling for reasons typically including awaiting school placement, illness, independent study for external exams, or school dismissal.

Higher education transition

Supporting the transition from high school to higher education is important for university success for individuals with documented learning differences. AccessLearning achieves this through one-to-one coaching in person or via Skype to support the unique challenges of transitioning from high school to the new demands of independent living and studying at university.

  • Providing guidance counselling for finding the appropriate higher education setting including knowing which questions to ask support service departments.
  • Preparing for self-advocating at the high education level and ensuring your son or daughter receives the access arrangements to which they are entitled.

Educational testing and access arrangement

An Educational Assessment is a highly effective way to assess your child’s educational skill level as well as being a screen for learning difficulties. AccessLearning owns a wide range of testing tools to identify precisely your child or adolescents learning profile which is presented in an educational assessment report providing detailed information to aid in the identification of appropriate and effective academic interventions and access arrangements.

AccessLearning offers private consultations and parental workshops on a range of educational topics to support you in making the best possible parental decisions for your child or adolescent’s education. AccessLearning provides:
