September 2015 – Extended Essay and Internal Assessment Study Days for IB students

Aim:

The purpose of this format is to provide IB candidates at the beginning of Year 2 with sessions which are supervised, structured, intensive and flexibly scheduled. The four-hour session is designed to support completion of the Extended Essay (EE) and Internal Assessments (IAs) as well as revision strategies for those who may have fallen behind in one or more courses. The focus will be on approaches to successful independent completion of the EE and IAs:

• Time management strategies for independent projects
• Project management of IAs and EE
• Active strategies for engaged learning
• Concentrating for long periods of time
• Using IB rubrics and command words strategically
• Strategies for coping with procrastination
• Individualized coaching time for each participant*
• Stress management techniques

*Please note that the aim the coaching is to provide structure and supervision for project completion and any guidance given must be in accordance with the IB regulations.

Dates and Time:

• Thursday September 10, 2015 / 13:15-17:15
• Friday September 11, 2015 / 13:15-17:15
• Daily September 14-16, 2015 / 9:15-14:15

Fee schedule:

The days are designed for 4 participants. The fee is based on a daily rate and includes snacks, beverages and lunch: 

• 4 participants: €125 each per day
