February 2016 – Carnival Study Days for Year 1&2 EU Bac, A-Level, and IB Candidates

Aim:

The purpose of this format is to provide EU Bac, A-Level, and IB candidates in both Year 1 and Year 2 with study sessions which are supervised, structured, intensive and flexibly scheduled. The four-hour session is designed to support the completion of independent projects as well as revision strategies for those who may have fallen behind in one or more courses, and/or are starting to prepare for May 2016 External Exams:

• Getting started with your indpendent projects
• Support in completing independent projects
• Design a revision plan for the remaining weeks before May external exams
• Exam preparation and exam taking techniques
• Using rubrics and command words strategically
• Active strategies for engaged learning
• Strategies for coping with procrastination
• Concentrating for long periods of time
• Individualized coaching time for each participant*
• Stress management techniques

*Please note that the aim the coaching is to provide structure and supervision for project completion and any guidance given must be in accordance with the IB regulations.
